Roundtrip: Capitals, Fjords and Coast

Itinerary
Day 1: Oslo
Arrival Oslo. Suggested sightseeing in Oslo including the Norwegian Folk Museum, The Viking Ships, The Kon-Tiki and Ra Raft. Hostel accommodation: Oslo Hostel Holtekilen.
Day 2 : Oslo – Kongsberg Approx 100 km
Breakfast. Drive to Kongsberg – the silver mining town. A visit to the silver mine and/or the impressive old church from 1761 are recommended. Overnight Kongsberg Hostel
Day 3: Kongsberg – Hardanger Approx 300 km
Breakfast. Drive through the charming Numedalen valley to Geilo. From Geilo via the Hardangervidda mountain plateau to Lofthus. On the way make a stop at the Vøringsfossen waterfall – one of the highest waterfalls in Norway.
Hostel accommodation: Hardanger Hostel Lofthus
Day4: Hardanger(Lofthus) – Bergen approx 150 km
Breakfast. Drive along the fjord to Kinsarvik and take the ferry to Kvanndal. From Kvandal along the beautiful Hardangerfjord to Bergen. Make a stop in Norheimsund and visit the Steindalsfossen waterfall. From Norheimsund to Bergen.

Day 5: Bergen - Førde Approx km 180
Breakfast. In the morning city sightseeing in Bergen incl the fish market and the Bryggen Warf. Leave Bergen early afternoon and head north to Førde. Coss the Sognefjord from Oppedal – Lavik by ferry. Hostel accommodation: Forde Hostel
Day 6: Førde - Ulsteinvik approx 180km
Breakfast. Head north and cross several small fjords by ferry. Arrive Ulsteinvik early in the afternoon. A visit to the famous bird island Runde is possible in the evening (approx 38 km one way). Hostel accommodation: Ulsteinvik Hostel
Day 7: Ulsteinvik – Sogndal Approx 195 km
Breakfast. Head south to Skei and onwards to Fjærland. In Fjærland visit the Bøyabreen glacier ( a part of Norways biggest glacier Jostedalen glacier) and the Norwegian Glacier Museum. Drive from Fjærland to Sogndal. Hostel Accommodation: Sogndal Hostel
Day 8: Sogndal – Oslo Approx 340 km
Breakfast. Drive to Fodnes and cross by ferry to Mannheller. Outside Lærdal a visit to the famous Borgund Stave Church (1150 A. D.) is recommended. Head then for Hemsedal – on of Norways best winter sport resorts – and onwards down Hallingdal valley to Oslo.
