The Sunndalsora Youth and Family Hostel (Sunndalsøra Vandrerhjem) was built by the English "salmon tourist", Lord Phillip, in 1896. There are excellent opportunities for trout fishing in the river, and the hostel sells fishing cards and lets boats. The Sunndalsora hostel can organise tours, e.g. white water rafting, mountain climbing, and glacier walking, as well as guided tours to historic places and mighty waterfalls in the area. The hostel offers different kind of accommodation, single room, double room and family room. Single bed (shared) is also available. Good self catering facilities.
Location: From Molde (Rv.62): Take the Litledalen/Aursjøvegen exit on the right approx. 2km after the Oksendals Tunnel (before the centre of Sunndalsora). Follow the signs to the hostel (vandrerhjem) for 1.5km.
From Oppdal/Kristiansund (Rv.70): Drive to the centre of Sunndalsora and follow Rv.62 towards Molde. Take the exit on the left to Litledalen/Aursjøvegen after 2km, and follow the signs to the Sunndalsora Youth and Family Hostel (1,5km).
