Due to the oil industry Stavanger is one of Scandinavia´s most cosmopolitan cities. Stavanger´s history dates back to the Viking age, and its fortune has largely been built on fishing, canning industry, ship building, and more recently, oil. Old Stavanger is an archaeological masterpiece with wooden buildings from the 18th and 19th century. The Stavanger Youth and Family Hostel (Stavanger Vandrerhjem, Mosvangen) offers different kind of accommodation, single room, double room and family room. Single bed (shared) is also available. Good self catering facilities
Location: Stavanger Youth and Family Hostel is located by the peaceful district of Tjensvoll and close to Mosvatnet, right by E39.
Take bus nr. 4 Madlamark/Tjensvoll from bus stop no. 29. Ask the driver to stop by Brustadbua. The youth hostel is located about 500m from the bus stop.
