Experience this living and hospitable community on the car-free Roevaer. The island is only a short boat trip from Haugesund centre. On the island there are approximately 100 inhabitants, a school, kindergarten, shop, hotel, a summer open café and a hostel. The boat has 6-7 daily departures to/from Haugesund. Roevaer has traditionally earned its living from farming, seafaring and fishing.
Roevaer hostel (Røvær Vandrerhjem) is situated in the harbour at Roevaer, as close as you can come to the sea. On the western part of the island – just a short walk from the hostel – you can experience the mighty North Sea Ocean, an unforgettable memory.
Spend a couple of days at Roevaer and you will go back with memories that will last forever!
