The Capital of the Fjords" is among Norway’s prettiest and most exciting cities. The student town has great atmosphere with a bustling fish market, cosy cafés and bakeries (try out the local cinnamon rolls!) and narrow, cobbled streets. Stroll along the 16th century harbour side Bryggen with it’s famous wooden buildings, take a trip to Troldhaugen - home of composer Edvard Grieg or visit Old Bergen and Fantoft Stave Church.
The Bergen Hostel YMCA(Bergen Vandrerhjem YMCA) is situated in the heart of Bergen, a few minutes from the famous fish market and the historical Bryggen (harbour side). The hostel has a roof terrace with a BBQ and great view of Bergen Harbour. We offer both 2-, 4- and 6-bedded rooms with ensuite facilities and dorm rooms with shared wc/shower.
Location: From Strandkaieni the Bergen City Centre: Walk across the fish market. Cross the street, and pass the Tourist Information Centre on your right hand side. Turn left towards the church and find Bergen Hostel YMCA on the left side of the street. From the airport: The airport shuttle bus stops at the Tourist Information Centre. Cross the square towards the church and find YMCA on the left side of the street.
