Bergen, the Capital of the Fjords is among Norway’s prettiest and most exciting cities. The student town has great atmosphere with a bustling fish market, cosy cafés and bakeries (try out the local cinnamon rolls!) and narrow, cobbled streets. Stroll along the 16th century harbour side Bryggen with it’s famous wooden buildings, take a trip to Troldhaugen - home of composer Edvard Grieg or visit Old Bergen and Fantoft Stave Church.
The Bergen Hostel Montana (Bergen Montana Vandrerhjem) is situated at the foot of Mount Ulriken, one of the seven mountains surrounding the city of Bergen. From the hostel there is a beautiful view of the town centre and great hiking opportunities. The famous cable car Ulriksbanen takes you to the top of Mount Ulriken, and is only a 5 minutes walk from the Bergen Hostel Montana. Montana offers different kinds of accommodation, single room, double room, 3-bedded room, 4 bedded room and family room. Single bed (shared) accommodation is also available.
Location: Bus nr. 31 from Varden. Passes the Coastal Steamer terminal, the central post office, the railwaystation, Haukeland hospital, and continues to Montana in direction «Lægdene». By return to the centre, the bus drives in direction «Varden». The bus stop, named Montana, is 200 meters from the Bergen Montana Hostel.
From south/east by car: Drive to Nesttun. Follow E39 towards Bergen. Take off towards road 585 at Paradis, and follow this road for approx.3 km. At Landås-svingen you will see a hostel sign to Montana.
From the Bergen city centre: Follow Kong Oscarsgate (King Oscar Street) which continues on road 585, passes Haukeland hospital, to Landassvingen. Here you will see a hostel sign to Montana. Follow the sign all the way to a warm welcome at the hostel! GPS coordinates N 60.37201° E 5.36665°
