Aalesund was rebuilt after the town fire in 1904, and the town is today one of 3 European towns with the magnificent Jugend architecture. Other sights: the pittoresque fishing harbour Brosundet, boat life among the street Skansegata, the breathtaking view over fjord, mountains and the ocean from Fjellstua at the Aksla Mountain, the open air museum Sunnmore Friluftsmuseum in Borgundgavlen, Aalesunds Museum and the Aquarium. The Aalesund Youth and Family Hostel (Ålesund Vandrerhjem) is open until the 30th of September. The hostel offers different kind of accommodation, single room, double room and family room. Single bed (shared) is also available. Good self catering facilities.
Location: Follow E136 or RV658 to the centre of Aalesund. The Aalesund Hostel is located in the street "Parkgaten" which is parallel to the street "Keiser Wilhelmsgate".
